Do you own a VW Golf? |

Dear Residents,
🚨 Crime Prevention Alert - Increase in Burglaries Targeting Vehicle Keys 🚨 We are currently seeing an increase in burglaries where offenders are forcing entry to homes by snapping locks on rear doors and stealing car keys, particularly for VW Golf vehicles.
Once inside, offenders are taking vehicle keys and stealing cars from outside the property.
How to Protect Your Home and Vehicle
✅ Consider upgrading Euro cylinder locks on external doors to anti-snap, anti-pick and anti-drill locks. ✅ Ensure all doors and windows are locked and secured, especially overnight and when leaving the property. ✅ Keep vehicle keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes. ✅ Store keys in a secure location and out of sight. ✅ If your vehicle has keyless entry/start, keep keys in a Faraday pouch to prevent signal relay theft. ✅ Consider using additional vehicle security such as steering wheel locks, driveway bollards or tracking devices. ✅ Make sure your home has good exterior lighting and, where possible, CCTV or doorbell cameras.
Free Faraday Pouches Available
We have a limited number of Faraday pouches available free of charge from the Braunstone FEO Office while stocks last. 📍 Braunstone Police Station 🕙 Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 4:00pm
